Just watched it. One song - Genius of Love.
Little slow and subdued to start, finished stronger.

Fallon made no mention of concert tomorrow night (now tonight) at Irving Plaza.
Big snowstorm overnight and Wednesday in New York. Could be trouble for some travelling to the show.

The band was just awesome. The good vibe just poured out of the performance. Some bands get on stage and mope, patter around, look like they just started playing their axe yesterday. Like they're one step above a bar band. They're just out of sync enough and there's really no on-stage chemistry.

Not the case with TTC. It's soooooo clear that these guys are a band in every sense of the word. And why shouldn't they be? They have fun...they rock...and are immensely talented and professional.

- I'm always impressed with how Tina can play these complicated riffs on her bass and yet keep the vocals doing their own thing. That's not easy to do. Try it sometime.

- Lots of good focus on Bruce and Kid Ginseng. Think about this: this is probably the first time in a long while that anyone scratching records has received any kind of singular spotlight on a late night t.v. show. So K.G.--you're representing the D.J. nation and doing it well.

- Fuzz has got such a funky guitar style. The wah pedal just made it even more awesome.

- It became clear that this is the true legacy of Talking Heads.

Ya know, watching the Club do its thing with the audience in the background...this really was the funky little Tom Tom Club. The only thing that was missing was a cool, smilin' sun up above and the James Rizzi dog.

Chris--maybe you need a Rizzi-designed "Tom Tom Club" drum head!

I predict that 2011 will be great for Tom Tom Club.

Next up: David Letterman!!
