Whooooa!, is this for real or are you just being mean at us?, I've been waiting for the Close to the Bone remaster forever!, and the debut album is just a masterpiece. Both of them on a 2 CD set, it just cannot get any better than this. Any additional info? release date? something?, 'cause I'm getting this for SURE!

Great news - I had to check that it wasn't April 1st at first. :biere:

Just a quick question francey: any idea what happened to the instrumental version of Lorelei? I think it's about the only track from that period which is missing on the CD set.

The original 12" versions of GoL and WR are also left out. Both are included on some previous CD versions of the album, but they hardly add anything to the originally released album versions. The instrumental version of "Lorelei" was on the list as well, but it's not very different from the album version (except for the lack of a vocal track of course :-)

Although both and "Spooks" and "Elephant" are (almost) instrumental versions too, they're very different mixes and therefore stand out on their own more (both are excellent party tracks). "(You Don't Stop) Wordy rappinghood" has always been one of my favorite mixes - short and crazy, the perfect track to end the disk, and probably the least likely to ever make it to CD, so that's why it's there. All other single edits were left out, as they just lack parts in stead of adding something new. "Yella" had, technically speaking, to be on the first disk as well, but since there isn't much extra material from the "CTTB" era and chronologically it is from between both records, I think it will do nicely on the CTTB disk ;-)

Makes sense. Is this release going to be a worldwide thing or does Warners still have the US rights?

I have no idea - I always thought the masters for "Close to the Bone" were lost in some Warner vault, but apparently somebody found them. And even all suggested B-sides and alternative versions will be on the package, so I'm happy :-)

1 show in london, 1 in tokyo and 1 in osaka... Sounds like the minimum requierment set for what one might call a "tour" ;-)
