Rare radio commercials for "Fear of Music" and "Remain in Light" PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 22 April 2014 21:59

Back in 1979 David Byrne recorded a radio commercial with Brian Eno to announce the new Talking Heads album "Fear of Music". The message is clear and simple: "Talking Heads have a new album, it's called Fear or Music". David Byrne's voice went through a vocoder for the robot-effect and unreleased ambient music playing in the background.
A year later, another commercial was recorded to promote the album "Remain in Light". This time, the background music is taken from an unreleased take from the "Remain in Light"-sessions and David Byrne's voice is more manipulated and sounds like an excersize for the technics used on the 1981 Byrne/Eno album "My Life in the Bush of Ghosts".
